Dustin Pike Red, white and Blue Challenge

Pike's Playground is doing a Red, White and Blue Challenge. How could I not participate? Plus I haven't had much time to be creative lately, however, I needed some time to relax. This challenge was perfect for that. I love Patriotic stuff. I was browsing my Dustin Pike library trying to find the perfect image to use and came across this Peacock. Instantly my creativity meter went wild. I used several different medium's bringing him to life! Embossing powders, pearl powder (not sure if that is the correct name, sounds good though), my all wood water color pencils and my embossing glaze pens from sakura.

I have to say I am happy with the end result. His feathers are actually a shimmering white pearl, the weather here is overcast so you can't really tell. His body is a sparkling blue embossing powder with a white sakura pen used to add the stars. Anyhow, thanks for stopping by. Hopefully I will have more time to be creative in the upcoming weeks. Have a great weekend!
